Doggie Mom

Getting to be a dog mom is one of the best things, but it doesn't come without its challenges. Steve (My fiancé) and I have an adorable 12 lb Schnoodle named Otto Von Bisbark (Steve picked his name). He came from a breeder in Alabama called Smeraglia's; here is a link to their website where you can see all their adorable puppies!! https://www.teddybearschnoodles.com/
Otto has such a HUGE personality, he constantly keeps Steve and I laughing and I find this is the case with most dogs. He not only gets us laughing but he helps us stay in shape because his high energy requires a lot of exercise even for a small dog. We go on 2 mile walks every other day together and when it is not too hot we also go for runs. He loves going to the dog park and socializing with not only other four-legged friends but their humans too! He is far from a shy dog, he had no problem walking right up to you with his wiggly little nub of a tail to let you know he wants to say hello.

Sometimes when he is really interested in something or someone he will hop up on his back legs and walk around like a little human. We aren't sure why he does this, we assume it is because he spends so much time around us he's learned he is taller and could see more if he stands up.
He absolutely loves getting attention from everyone. If he feels you have not given him enough attention he will sing you some beautiful puppy songs to get you to look at him.
We absolutely love being Otto's human parents and one day would love to get him another puppy brother or sister. We understand that now is not the right time of us even though we 100% would get one if we could. Dogs in general are A LOT of responsibility and require a decent amount of care which is why it is very important to know when the right time is for you to make the commitment to being a doggie parent. Not to mention the vet bills can get expensive especially when an unexpected visit to the vet is in order (and this will happen).
Another thing to consider before getting a dog is also looking into the different breeds and doing a lot of research to find one that is best suited to your life style. A lot of people buy a specific bread because it is their favorite or they like they like the look of that breed but it is important to understand a specific breeds temperament, common health problems, and activity needs. Dogs are a wonderful addition to any family and can be a lot of fun to own, but remember they are a commitment and you need to be ready for that!
